What is Invisalign® Go?
Invisalign® Go offers a simple, modern way to straighten your teeth without the hassle of metal braces. Using a series of custom-made clear aligners, Invisalign® Go gently moves your teeth into better alignment, often in just a few months. The aligners are smooth, removable, and so discreet that most people will not even notice you are wearing them.
Designed for mild to moderate crowding, gaps, and slight bite issues, Invisalign® Go fits easily into your daily routine. You can enjoy all your favorite foods, maintain your regular brushing and flossing habits, and feel confident throughout your treatment.
Am I A Good Candidate For Invisalign® Go?
This Invisalign® system straightens your teeth so you can smile proudly. It may be right for you if you are unhappy with:
- Mild crowding
- Mildly to moderately crooked teeth
- Mild to moderate relapse since teenage orthodontic treatment
The only way to know if it will work for your teeth is to visit our practice. The dentist, Dr. Brian Pendley, will examine your teeth. We may take x-rays or ask you to bring any recent x-rays. Dr. Pendley will be able to see whether Invisalign® Go can move your teeth the way they need to. For complex bite problems or severe tooth misalignment, traditional orthodontics or the standard Invisalign® system may be necessary.
As a busy professional, a working adult, a parent, an adolescent or another individual considering clear teeth aligners, you may be a great candidate for Invisalign® Go. This system can often provide effective straightening within several months (it all depends on the severity of teeth misalignment).
The Benefits of Invisalign® Go
Invisalign® Go offers significant advantages over traditional braces, making it an ideal choice for many patients with mild to moderate alignment issues. Benefits include:
- Nearly invisible aligners that allow you to straighten your teeth discreetly.
- Removable trays so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss without restrictions.
- Smooth, comfortable material with no metal brackets or wires to irritate your mouth.
- Simpler oral hygiene compared to cleaning around braces.
- Faster treatment times for many patients, often just a few months.
- Fewer office visits required throughout your treatment.
- Advanced digital planning lets you preview your future smile before you start.
With Invisalign® Go, you enjoy a flexible, convenient, and more comfortable way to achieve a confident smile—without the hassles of traditional orthodontics.
How Does Invisalign® Go Work?
Invisalign® works by gradually moving your teeth, a little bit at a time. The plastic aligners you place over your teeth exert pressure on the teeth. Each aligner in the series that you receive is designed to produce specific teeth adjustments. You graduate from one aligner to the next, wearing each one in the series for about two to three weeks. You progress through the aligners until you reach the end of your treatment. You will be able to see your progress because the aligners are clear and removable.
How Many Hours Per Day Do I Need To Wear Invisalign® Aligners?
The whole timeline is based on at least 22 hours of daily wear – 22 hours at a minimum. Failing to wear them as often as you should means the treatment won’t go as planned, and inconvenient adjustments may need to be made, which could result in a longer treatment. Having said all that, our patients are really motivated to achieve their new smiles. They don’t have a problem keeping their aligners in because they are excited to get the final results. We believe you too will feel this way once you get started with your treatment plan.
When Can I Remove My Invisalign® Aligners?
Invisalign® Go requires patient compliance. The aligners are removable but must be removed only for:
- Eating
- Drinking any beverage that isn’t water
- Brushing
- Flossing
You must not remove them simply because they feel uncomfortable or tight. You must not remove them because you are talking to someone or in a meeting. You must remove them only when you really need to, for the reasons listed above. This is how you ensure your treatment stays on track.
What To Expect During Invisalign® Go Treatment
First, you will visit our practice so Dr. Pendley can examine your teeth. If you choose Invisalign® Go, your next appointment will include a digital scan of the inside of your mouth. This simple, painless process involves us using a handheld wand to take pictures of the inside of your mouth. This digital scan is used by Invisalign® labs to plan your treatment and create your custom aligners.
Once your aligners are ready, you will come back to our practice for your fitting. Once Dr. Pendley has ensured everything looks good, we will send you home with all the information you need to complete the treatment successfully.
You will have scheduled regular appointments with us as well, so Dr. Pendley can monitor your progress and make sure everything is going according to plan.
Maintaining Your Smile After Invisalign® Go
Completing your Invisalign® Go treatment is a huge milestone—but keeping your new smile beautiful takes a little ongoing care. After finishing your aligner series, you'll wear clear retainers to help your teeth stay in their new positions. At first, you may need to wear them most of the day, but over time, you'll transition to wearing them only at night. Retainers are essential because teeth naturally shift without consistent support.
Fortunately, today's retainers are discreet, comfortable, and easy to wear. Wearing your retainers and visiting us regularly will help keep your teeth aligned and your smile looking its best. Our experienced team will provide guidance and support at every stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Invisalign® Go is a streamlined version of the traditional Invisalign® treatment designed to treat mild misalignment. It uses the same digital imaging technology, custom-made clear aligners, and advanced treatment planning software. However, it typically involves fewer aligner trays and dental visits. The typical treatment time for Invisalign® Go is between 15 to 30 weeks. Traditional Invisalign® can take over 12 months for severe bite issues and dental misalignment.
Retainers are an essential part of any successful orthodontic treatment plan. Invisalign® Go patients should plan on wearing retainers indefinitely to keep their teeth straight and protect their final results. Fortunately, clear retainers are modern, discreet, and virtually invisible.
Clear plastic retainers are molded to fit the new position of your teeth. They are also less bulky and more comfortable than many other types of retainers, so you’ll be more likely to wear them.
Watching your teeth get straighter right before your eyes is so exciting! Some patients will start to notice subtle results from Invisalign® Go within a few weeks. Others may need more time.
Invisalign® Go is designed to treat very mild to moderate cases of dental misalignment. It can treat upper teeth that slightly overlap the bottom teeth. It may also be appropriate for bottom teeth that slightly overlap the upper teeth. However, it’s generally recommended for patients with a normal molar position and mild to moderate crowding or spacing problems.
Orthodontic treatment is not one size fits all. There are many different paths that can lead to a straighter smile. An orthodontic evaluation is the best way to learn which treatment is right for you. Our dentist will examine your teeth and take digital impressions to find the right solution.
Invisalign® Go is a fantastic way to straighten your teeth in a short amount of time. However, it can sometimes cause discomfort and soreness. These sensations are commonly associated with changing to a brand new set of aligner trays. You should feel much better after a few days.
The cost of treatment varies. We’ll provide the estimate when you visit us for your consultation. We do accept various financing plans, which we can show you how to apply for when you visit us.
