Dr. Ruf is extremely efficient and makes it seem like you're just there to hangout (as much as one can hangout at a dentist office anyway). I've been battling a problem biting down on the right side of my mouth from a filling that needed to be redone. Dr. Ruf clearly explained the options after listening to my concerns in terms of what the best way to proceed was for my specific situation. I walked out that day with significantly less discomfort. I highly recommend this clinic and have told a number of friends to come here already. Thanks to the Ralston staff!
I needed a tooth capped, Dr. Ruff completed that work but did so in a way that caused food to get lodged under the gum. I attempted to resolve this with them, only to be told I was wrong and there was no way that could happen. I have had teeth capped prior, even this one by another dentist. One year later, the cap Dr. Ruff put on fell off.
This is hands-down the worst dental experience I've ever had. Took my son to establish care and get a six month cleaning was treated poorly from the time we walked in to the time we walked out.
Carly, the hygienist, is so personable and never causes any pain. When I tell her of any issues I'm having with my teeth, she is quick to find answers and then discuss with the doctor. I don't always get the same dentist, but each dentist has always been careful and thorough and taken care of any issues professionally. I would recommend the Dentists at Hillsborough .
I've been a patient of Dr. Snow's for almost four years now and, since my teeth have issues in spite of good self and previous dental care, I have seen him regularly. Each time has been excellent! I've also used the Dentists at Ralston office there as well as it is close to my work. I know excellent dental care because I've had a lot over the years. No regrets about picking this practice when we relocated to Omaha. My husband goes here too and when my son lived in Dundee he used the practice there. Love the different locations and the willingness to work me in during a dental emergency situation.
We recently moved to Omaha and have had our second appointment with Dr. Samuelson for cleaning and check. We have found the staff and Dr. Samuelson to be very professional and friendly.
I had my first cleaning with The Dentists at Hillsborough earlier this spring. Some things that occurred during that appointment have nagged at me since, so I decided to share my experience in the event this information it may prove beneficial to someone else. The staff was courteous, and the initial exam and x-rays with the dental assistant were fine; my complaints lie strictly with the care of Dr. Jeffrey Garvey, to whom my new patient appointment was assigned. I have never had a more painful experience with anyone in the dental industry than Garvey. He seemed to be in an inordinate rush to get the cleaning finished, and as such, was scraping my teeth carelessly, in my estimation. Going into a dental cleaning, I fully expect some jabs and pokes, but this cleaning thoroughly felt as though my gums were getting lacerated by his tools on every tooth. When I mentioned that I needed a moment because the cleaning was hurting, he casually stated that the plaque buildup was causing my gums to be sensitive and thus, the pain. I’ve had my teeth cleaned every six months since I was a child – not only do my teeth stay clean, with an average amount of plaque for a healthy person who takes good care of their teeth, but in all of those many appointments over the years, I’ve never felt like my gums were actually getting cut by the dental instruments during a routine cleaning. Nor have I encountered a dentist so merrily unapologetic about the discomfort I was experiencing. Garvey maintained the same attitude throughout the rest of the appointment as well, blaming my flinching pain on my own sensitivity to the procedures, never assuming any responsibility or even the appearance of consideration that his own hasty and careless efforts might have been at cause. Absolutely no efforts were made on his part to adjust his technique for the well-being of his patient. Additionally, I had a broken filling that needed repaired that day. Garvey didn’t apparently care to take the time to use a surface numbing agent on my jaw, which I suppose may be a preference some dentists don’t adopt. However, he then jabbed the needle directly into the back of my mouth, pushing it in hard and quickly, rather than letting the solution work into my jaw a little more slowly, which has always been my experience with any dentist. This final act seemed a summation of that entire appointment - it was unjustifiably painful, and most of the discomfort I experienced could have been avoided if Garvey had used a more conscientious approach to his profession. The dental assistant commented to me before I left their office that Dr. Garvey “doesn’t mess around”. Certainly, it seemed to me as though his schedule must be far too busy to take proper care with, and of, his patients. I briefly considered requesting one of the other dentists for my family’s future dental care, but ultimately decided not to return to The Dentists whatsoever, as I can’t imagine leaving my four-year-old in the hands of any professional who would approve of the methods and bedside manner that I experienced that day.
I am comfortable with the staff at The Dentist at Hillsborough. With my current financial situation I am not sure if I can continue. I cancelled my appointment due to finances.
I've been getting dental work done for 60+ years. As far as professionalism doctor Demman was exceptional, his staff took extra time to make sure I was comfortable, and the entire process was A++. Cheers!
